Imagine this...
It's been one of those diabetes days where you're mentally exhausted, your blood sugar has been all over the place, and it feels like nobody around you genuinely understands what you're going through.
But then you remember... your Sugar Letter came today! You instantly get comfy in your bed, open your envelope full of goodies, and realize you have a community of people who understand exactly what today has been like.
If you've ever felt like you're dealing with diabetes alone, you're exactly who Sugar Letters is for.
What is Sugar Letters?
Sugar Letters is the first mail club for people living with type 1 diabetes, built around the invisible side of living with type 1 diabetes. It's not clinical, educational, or generic support — it's the stuff only we understand: the 3am lows where you stumble to the kitchen, the constant food math, the exhaustion that nobody around you sees. It's something that says: "I see you, I've been there too, and you're not alone."
Everything inside Sugar Letters is made by me, a fellow type 1 diabetic of 10 years, along with a featured T1D artist each month so it always stays fresh and exciting! The letter is a real, unfiltered journal entry from me about something I'm actually going through right now — plus stories from other people living with type 1 diabetes, so every envelope carries more than one perspective. And beyond the envelope, subscribers get access to the Sugar Letters Discord & Facebook group where the community hangs out between drops, answers monthly prompts, and supports each other on hard days.
Ella's Story...
Hi! I'm Ella, the founder, and I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 10. In a lot of ways, I got lucky. My dad has T1D too, so I rarely felt alone in it. My diagnosis was caught early, I had people around me who knew what to do, and I grew up with the resources and support to figure out how to live well with this disease. Not everyone gets that, and I've never forgotten it.
For the past two years I've been creating content around type 1 diabetes, and the messages I'd get from people in the community shifted something in me. People would say they'd never met another type 1 in their life, that they felt completely alone, or that just seeing someone talk openly about this disease made them feel less invisible. Those messages made me realize that I actually had the ability to make a difference — and that I had a responsibility to do something with that.
I started Sugar Letters because I had something to offer and I didn't want to waste it. I wanted to build something that could reach the person doing this without a parent who gets it, without a community around them, without anyone who truly understands what their day-to-day looks like. Something small but meaningful that shows up at their door every month and says: you're not invisible. And you're never alone.

For example, if you signed up on September 20th, your first envelope would ship September 25th. If you signed up on September 21st, your first envelope would ship October 25th.
📦 Shipping: All envelopes ship on the 25th of each month. USA orders typically arrive within 1–4 weeks of the ship date, and international orders typically arrive within 2–6 weeks. Shipping is not tracked, so timing is always a bit of an estimate. The beauty of snail mail is in the wait!
🏡 Address changes: You can update your address anytime in your customer portal. Just go to sugarlettersmail.com → click the account icon on the top right → enter the email you used at signup to receive a login code → click "Profile" → click your address to edit. To ensure your upcoming letter is sent to the correct address, it must be updated by the 20th of the month. For address changes from the 20th–24th before envelopes go out, please email me at hello@sugarlettersmail.com.
💳 Billing: Your first charge happens immediately at checkout. After that, you're automatically charged on the same date every month.
💫 Cancelling: You can cancel anytime in your customer portal. Just go to sugarlettersmail.com → click the account icon on the top right → enter the email you used at signup to receive a login code → click "Manage Subscription." To avoid receiving an envelope the following month, you must cancel before your monthly billing date.
🌍 International orders: International orders may be subject to customs fees depending on your country, and Sugar Letters isn't responsible for those charges.
↩️ Refund policy: All sales are final. However, if your mail hasn't arrived after 4 weeks (USA) or 6 weeks (international), email hello@sugarlettersmail.com with your name and address and I'll send a new envelope free of charge.

The Ultimate Goal
My hope is that every envelope gives you something to look forward to, makes the heavy parts of diabetes feel a little lighter, and reminds you that you're never doing this alone. 🤍

We really loved receiving our Sugar Letter. My son really enjoyed seeing the art, and the letter made him feel connected to a wider community. He's home educated, and we sometimes struggle to normalise it, the beeps and tech, and carrying his little Warrior Cats bag with him. He's taken to all the changes so well, and I am so proud of him. And when he read the actual letter, I noticed his face changed. He felt seen. Thank you.
Sugar letters has made me feel seen and understood, as someone with not a lot of friends and absolutely none that are type one or really understand it! It’s a great thing to receive every month and to know so many others feel the same way.
I absolutely love this Mail club and are telling all my diabetic friends about it too. I am from New Zealand so the fact it comes all the way here is amazing and I feel so lucky x
